This Privacy Policy explains how Dainik Calendar (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use our Android application. The App provides panchang, festivals, spiritual content, and related features.

Summary: We do not require an account and we do not operate our own user database. Most settings and preferences stay on your device. Weather and ads use third-party services as described below.

1. Information we do not collect

We do not ask you to create an account.
We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number through normal use of the App.
We do not upload your panchang data, saved kundli, or spiritual reading progress to our own servers.

2. Information stored on your device

The App stores some data locally on your phone using secure on-device storage (for example SharedPreferences and local files). This may include:

Your selected city or location for panchang calculations
Language and theme preferences
Notification and reminder settings
Cached panchang data and optional saved kundli charts
Reading progress for Gita, Chalisa, Vrat Katha, and similar features
A decompressed offline city search database copied from bundled app assets

This information stays on your device unless you clear app data, uninstall the App, or use a feature that sends data to a third party (weather or ads).

3. Location

The App uses location (GPS or a city you choose) to calculate panchang, choghadiya, festivals, and related timings for your area.

Location permission is optional. You can pick a city manually instead.
Your chosen location is saved locally on your device for future sessions.
We do not send your location to our own servers.

4. Weather

When weather information is shown, the App sends your latitude and longitude to the third-party weather provider Open-Meteo (api.open-meteo.com) to fetch forecast data.

We do not control Open-Meteo’s servers or retention practices.
Please review Open-Meteo’s privacy information on their website.
Weather requests require an internet connection.

5. Advertising

The free version of the App shows advertisements through Google AdMob, which may use mediation partners such as AppLovin and Unity Ads.

These ad partners may collect or receive information such as:

Advertising ID / device identifiers
IP address and general device information
Ad interaction and performance data

This data is used to show, measure, and improve ads. We do not sell your personal information. Ad partners process data under their own privacy policies:

You can limit ad personalization in your device settings (for example “Opt out of Ads Personalization” on Android) and in Google Ads Settings.

6. Notifications

If you enable reminders or notifications, they are scheduled on your device. We do not use notifications to collect personal data on our servers.

7. Share and external links

The share feature uses your device’s system share sheet. We do not receive what you share.
The App may open external links (for example Play Store, Instagram, or our contact page) in your browser or the relevant app.

8. Internet access

Internet access is used for advertisements, weather, and opening external links. Core panchang calculations work offline after your location is set.

9. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

10. Data retention and deletion

On-device data remains until you clear the App’s cache or storage in Android settings, or uninstall the App. Third-party services (ads, weather) retain data according to their own policies.

11. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information stored in the App, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

12. Disclaimer

Panchang, muhurat, and spiritual content in the App are provided for general information only. For important religious or life decisions, please consult a qualified local pandit or authority.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
